Frreelance grooming consultant and makeup
artist Serena Porbunderwalla and her husband who is in family business
live in Mumbai.
Here the gorgeous Serena talks about how she went about planning her wedding day.
How I put together the Look for my wedding
I always knew I wanted a different look for each function, so for my
engagement I went for the angelic look with a baby pink saree by Anamika
Khanna. Diamonds and nude make up done by Bharat Godambe suited it best.

Engagement
ceremony |
For the cocktail I wore a classic black Gauri & Nainika dress with
just long diamond and ruby
earrings.

Cocktail Party |
For the mehendi and haldi ceremony, I was dressed in a
traditional yellow
and green maharastrian style saree with flower jewellery.
The Nikah function was in the morning. I went for the innocent look with an
off white kashmiri saree with pastel embroidery and a seperate net dupatta
to cover my head. Traditional gold jewelry completed the ensemble. I did the make-
up for the these functions myself.

Nikah ceremony |
I wanted to look like a typical Indian bride for my reception. A red lehenga choli
by Ritu Kumar and traditional gold jewelry was what I chose. My makeup was
done by Bharat Godambe.

Reception |
For my post wedding function I wore a blue Sabhyasachi saree with
contemporary diamond jewelry.
Where I Shopped
My all time favorite stores where I never fail to get an amazing outfit are
Ritu Kumar, Zoya, Ogaan and Manish Malhotra. Their stuff is classic, eternal and
stylish. For men I would recommend Rahul Agasti and Gabbanas.
My advice for Brides-to-be
My advice for brides-to-be would be "dont panic and follow your
instincts. Even if you feel you will never find the perfect outfit don't
panic, just keep looking and you will finally find that one outfit which you
cant keep your hands off."
