Robin and Rick Beaty

Our Wedding
The Wedding was held on October 14th 2001 at The Mansion at Turner Hill (www.Turnerhill.com), a beautiful mansion in historic Ipswich Massachusetts surrounded by the foliage that can only be seen in New England in the fall.

The Theme
The Theme was Unique Autumn artistic. The Flowers included pomegranates, artichokes, chili pepper, rosemary, tiger striped orchids, hydrangia, and branches of all kinds (extremely different). Hand painted framed watercolors as favors on every table as well as around the mansion, handmade scroll wedding programs, invitations and place cards (all made by the bride) all with a surprise poem inside (poems by Hafiz, Pablo Neruda and the groom Rick Beaty.) The theme was all centered around the gorgeous fabrics by Sila. Every color and detail was used as the inspiration for the rest of the wedding decor.

The Food
Cocktail hour included lollipop lambchops with rosemary dipping sauce, sweet corn polenta rounds, Sesame chicken brochettes and garlic shrimp. Dinner included tomato and mozzarella salad followed by a butter nut squash soup and entrees of maple pecan encrusted chicken.

What Robin Wore
After trying out designers like Lazaro and St.Pucchi and still not getting the exclusive style they wanted, Robin and Richard met with Saman to design the clothes for the bride and her entire party.

Robin's dress was a custom made Ball Gown cut Lehnga with a form fitted bodice and a waltz length veil. Handloom woven Atlas silk with an exclusive weave was used with revivalist arabesque moghul embroidery accents in metal bullion and gilt wire in copper, bronze and matte gold on the Lehnga, blouse and veil.

The brides maids wore copper lehngas and mid length blouses with a wrap carrying the same metal accents as the bride. The maid of honor and flower girl presented the final touch to the world famous New England Foliage setting in burnt orange lehengas.

What Rick Wore
A classic tux with a gold tie and vest handmade from the same fabric as the brides gown. The grooms men also wore handmade ties and vests from the same fabrics as the brides maids dresses)

Our Special Recommendations
Sila of course! Also I found "TheKnot.com" and "theweddingchannel.com" helpful, when it came to our gift registries. Honestly, "we" were our best resource (along with our many artistic friends) for creativity and originality in our wedding.

Like I mentioned , everything was handmade by us or friends right down to our wedding rings and the cake!
